There’s absolutely no denying that summer is 100% here, in all its blazing glory. And we do mean blazing.
When it feels like it is literally 1,000 degrees outside, everyone’s instinct is to just stay inside and not wear pants. But for those times when you actually have to leave the house, pants are (regrettably) required.
So what do we do when we have to look good in sweltering heat? We turn to a few of our favorite Dallas influencers for style inspiration:
Nickie Vu sticks to a simple formula: bold color + a punchy print + minimal coverage. A pop of hot-pink on a barely-there cami paired with the print of the moment—palm—is a foolproof combo for looking chic and staying cool. Not to mention that pom-pom trim, which is everything for summer ’16.
For those craving a little more coverage, stick to Valery Brennan’s method: keep the fabrics light and airy. Valery’s blouse and maxi skirt prove that coverage doesn’t mean heavy, and a pale color palette keeps everything feeling summer-appropriate, too.
If there were ever a trend made for soaring temps, it’s the crop top. The good news: they come in a spectrum of styles, from relaxed and waist-skimming to fitted and ab-baring. Whichever shape you choose, keep balance in mind: the less coverage on top, the more modest the bottom should be. Audrey Madstowe nails it.
